Several Los Angeles residents meet on Christmas Eve through chance, tragedy and divine involvement. Patrick Swayze as Velvet Larry plays the sleazy owner of the strip club where Jessica Biel as Rose-Johnny works as a strip dances. Biel's has a son who is in a coma. Eddie Redmayne as Qwerty Doolittle plays a mortician who falls in love with her. Kris Kristofferson as Randall plays a boss of gang who tries to convince his former member of gang who is Ray Liotta as Jack Doheny not to look for vengeance on his member. Liotta is also related to Rose-Johnny that he is her father. Forest Whitaker as Charlie is an ex-priest who wants to commit suicide because he lost his wife by car accident right after his wedding to honeymoon. Alejandro Romero plays a transvestite prostitute who shares a sudden relationship with the priest.
