The First Working Day of 2009

2009-01-05. I woke up earlier then other days.

I could not sleep last night. Am I afraid to go to the office?

In this year, many things will happen to me.

First, my girl friend will go to Canada for study English.

Do I like it? Nope. I don’t. I will get lonely.

However, experiencing abroad is big step for her.

Yes. I can stand on it… I mean I have to. hum…

Well...there are more things to talk, but not today.

I hope I can enjoy this year also^^.

Chicken Mania

Chicken Mania
Last night I went to dinner at Chicken Mania with JJ.
The place was near my house where I used to leave last year.
The restaurant was full of people, so they asked that it is alright to seat on the terrace, so we sat on the terrace and asked them to change to inside seat when they have available seat.
We order half fried chicken and half-seasoned chicken.
Surely, we order one bottle of Soju.
I like the taste and the restaureant.
I want to try other menues next time.
Anyway, chicken is alway goooood!!!

Sea food restaurant in Taiwan

I went to a business trip to visit Promise’s factory in Taiwan.

After we finished a meeting, they treated us (I and my co-workers) a dinner.

They took us one of famous sea food restaurant. (That was what they said to me.)

I did not really like the food. However, I like the people who enjoy dinner with me.

Ah! I heard funny thing that Taiwanese does not drink much like Korean from a guy from promise.

The guy was curious about why Korean like drink.

Anyway, I have some friends from Taiwan and they like to drink, so it’s totally depends on people I guess.

5 Salary Secrets Your Company Won't Tell You by Joy Victory, PayScale.com

It's normal to wonder how and why you get paid the salary you do. After all, it's not a decision process most employers are willing to disclose, at least not without a little prodding. So what are the best-kept secrets when it comes to salary decisions at most companies? And how can you use them to your advantage? Let's take a look.

1. For most companies, 3.9% is the average budget increase for salaries.
Yes, sad but true. According to the 35th annual WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey, the "actual increase in salary budgets was 3.9% in 2008." The number is expected to stay the same in 2009.
This means, that for most U.S. workers, the average raise will be about the same, with "high performers" receiving about a 5% raise, and "low performers" receiving 2% or less, the survey authors note.
"When people are looking for 6-8%, well, very few people are getting it," says Rebecca Mazin, co-founder of the HR consulting firm Recruit Right and author of "The HR Answer Book: An Indispensable Guide for Managers and Human Resources Professionals."
Knowing this can make it easier to stomach a 4% raise -- while it may not equal big money, it actually means your employer values you. Anything more means you're likely considered a top performer, and anything less means you may be underperforming.

2. Your employer (or future employer) may not know the current salary averages.
Just because a whole wealth of salary information is online these days doesn't mean your company has any idea what the normal salary is for a person in your field and in your city. If you do your research and discover your salary is abnormally low, it can be a great negotiation tool when you talk to your boss about your annual raise -- or when you're accepting a new job offer. He or she will realize they could easily lose you since many competitors nearby are paying better.
"You need to go in with some data behind you; you at least need to know what the going rate is," says Dawn Rosenberg McKay of About.com Guide to Career Planning. "[That way] you'll know if you're being outlandish or asking for something ridiculous."

3. Most managers have a short memory.Raises are given annually, and so it's important to keep track of all your achievements within the past year -- don't expect your boss to remember your big project from eight months ago. Using a spreadsheet or a special email folder, keep track of your accomplishments as they happen, so when the time comes, you have a strong case for a raise.
Accomplishments that show you've either saved the company money or earned the company money are the best ones to highlight, especially if you can specify an exact figure. If that's not possible (which is the case for most employees), take note of any extraordinary praise you received from managers or fellow coworkers, any special thanks from clients, and any other ways that demonstrated you went above and beyond your normal job duties.

4. Your manager probably has little influence over your salary.
Decisions about salary increases for all employees at a company are often made at a high level of management. So, even if you follow all the tips above, your manager may have minimal control over your raise. Case in point: Mazin recently worked with a nonprofit organization whose board decided to give every employee the exact same raise.
There's not a lot you can do in this situation, but if it leaves you feeling dissatisfied or taken for granted, it may be time to look for a new job.

5. Threatening to quit can result in a big wage increase (but it's risky).
If you're hoping for a big raise, or were disappointed by a recent raise, you may want to start job searching. For most people, the biggest salary jumps they have in their careers occur when they get a new job or threaten to quit because of a tantalizing job offer.
Sometimes, telling your current employer about your new gig can be a potent bargaining chip -- they may be willing to match the new offer just to keep you. But not always, as Mazin points out, so don't let your plan backfire. Make sure you really want that new job -- and are ready to quit your current one -- before threatening to quit.
"If you do decide to do it, do it for the right reasons," Mazin says.

Meet a Jesselton

Jesselton is an old name of Kota kinabalu. After I finished studying English in the united state of America, I really wanted to see other cultures and traveling other countries. Why is that? I think I really realize that there are many different people live in the world and it is very interesting to learn and see other cultures. That is why I decided to save some money for summer vacation every month from my salary after I got a job in Korea. The job does not offer me a good salary, but I can have some of free time for developing and enjoying myself. That is good thing about my company. Anyway, when I realized weather is getting hot, I was so excited that summer vacation is coming soon. However, air fare was rising every day because gas price was so expensive. I had to make decision to go abroad or stay in my room. While I could not name decision, JJ told me that let’s go to Kota Kinabalu. “What? Where is that?”

Kota kinabalu located a foot of Mt. kinabalu in N. Borneo Island. In the later half of 18 centuries, N. Borneo was colonized by British, so British took a wood and rubber in a new-built harbor from 1899. Enough size of Hinterland is advantage its development. In the World War 2, Australian troops and Japanese troops were fighting in the N. Borneo, so N. Borneo was ruined. After war finished, N. Borneo were re-built.

I finally decided to go to Kota kinabalu. When I arrived at the airport of K.K, it was 4 pm in local time in Malaysia. At the first, I took a bus to go hotel named ______. The hotel was not bad, but the destination of the hotel was not in Main Street of K.K. however, it was one of the best trips in my life. Actually, I liked the interior of the room. I went to sleep.

In the next day, I decided to go to the water front of the Main Street for looking for a travel agent for asking price of activities.

I could do many things such as snorkeling, swimming, getting massage, shopping and taking rest.
Everything I did was so great that I will never forget about this beautiful trip in my whole life.

Hell ride (2008)

Quentin Jerome Tarantino….what can I say more.
He has been filming his own colored movie since 1992.
While I was watching the movie, the movie reminded me ‘Kill Bill’.
This movie seems like American style kill bill (this is just my opinion).
Blood, sex, and revenge were melted into the movie. Did I like it? Actually I am very satisfied with the movie.
Even if the movie is violent, brutal, his movies carry love.
In this movie, all of revenge started from a beautiful woman, lover of main actor, gets killed by an opponent bike rider.
