Vancouver에 도착…그 동안 산을 타고 버스를 타고 힘들어진 몸을 쉬고 가기위해 Vancouver에서 하루를 머무르기로 했다. 모 도착을 밤에 했으니 다른 선택의 여지도 없었지만…2틀을 머물면서 휴식. 귀찬아서 사진도 그냥 막올릴려...

3rd day of Lake Louise.

I was waked by cold air in the car. It was so cold that I barely slept in the car but I did not want to pay for 38 dollar for staying in the Hostel, so I tried to sleep in the car. Anyway, I wanted to take shower, so I went to shower room – there is shower room in the hall of hostel not in the room, so I could take shower if I could avoid from staffs who work in the hostel - to take shower.

After taking shower, I went to the kitchen to join the Korean group to have a ramen. While I have breakfast with them, they asked me to join hike to Mountain, so I went to hike again.

When I got the top of the mountain, I could not say anything because scenery was so beautiful. The place was the best place I have ever visited in Canada.

Lake Louise의 두번째 날.

Lake Louise의 HI Hostel에는 아침이 포함되어 있지 않았다. 가격도 비싼데… 할 수 없이 아침거리를 5분정도 떨어진 슈퍼에 가서 장을 보기로 했다. 아무리 관광지라고는 하지만 가격이 너무 비쌌다. 바나나 2개에 1불…결국 라면을 끓여 먹을려고 라면 코너에 갔지만…왠만한 라면은 2불이 넘어갔다. 하지만 거기에 50 cents짜리 MR. Noodle이라는 끓여 먹는 라면이 있었다. 결국엔 그 라면 하나만 사가지고 다시 호스텔에 와서 라면을 끓여 먹고 인포메이션 센터로 향하였다.


인포메이션 센터에서 정보를 모으다 보니 자동차를 렌트를 하는게 더욱 저렴하다는 계산이 나왔다. 결국 슈헤이와 같이 차를 렌트하기로 결정. 렌트 가격도 만만치가 않다. 하루 렌트에 거의 100불에 가깝다. 하지만 방법이 없지 아니한가….차를 빌린 후 우선 세계 10대 절경이 라고 하는 Lake Louise로 출발 하였다. 웅장한 호텔 앞에 거대한 파아란 호수가 자리 잡고 있었다. 호숫가 앞에 앉아 귀에 이어폰을 끼고 노래를 몇곡 들었다.

젠장…..이 곳이랑 맞는 노래가 없다. 잔잔한 호수가 앞에서 힙합이랑 록 음악을 듣고 있다니….

호숫가 주변 Trail을 한번 돌고 발걸음을 Murrain Lake로 향하였다. 역시 강 주변을 한번 둘러보고 Ice field라는 곳으로 향하였다.

 Colombia Gracie….10000년이 넘도록 산 꼭대기에 얼음이 얼어있다. 지구의 기후가 점점 따뜻해 짐에 따라 그 얼음의 양은 조금씩 줄어들고 있다고 한다.

자동차를 주차장에 주차한 후에 천천히 걸어서 얼음이 있는 곳까지 걸어가기로 했다.

얼음을 지나온 바람때문인지 날씨가 싸늘하다. 주변을 둘러 본 후 다시 Lake Louise로 차를 몰았다.

Lake Louise로 돌아가는 중에 많은 View Point와 산 그리고 강들이 있어서 전부 들르다 보니 생각보다 많은 시간이 소요되어 Lake Louise로 도착했을땐 이미 10시가 되어 있었다.

 호스텔에 주차를 하고 들어가려고 하니 어디선가 왁자지껄한 한국말이 들려왔다. 한국인 관광객들이 호스텔 한편에서 갈비를 구워 먹고 있는게 아닌가……크흑. 먹고 싶다. 내 형편에 무슨 갈비…
슈헤이랑 같이 호스텔에 있는 카페에가서 맥주 핏쳐를 하나 시키고 후렌치 후라이를 시켜 져녁을 대신했다. 맥주를 거의 다 마셔가고 있는데 아까 보았던 한국 사람들이 우루루 카페에 들어오는게 아닌가. 반가운 마음에 인사를 하자. 내일 아침에 라면을 먹을 건데 라면을 같이 먹자며 식당으로 오라고 초대를 받았다. 감사하다며 인사를 드리고 차로 돌아가 잠을 청하였다.

I arrived Lake Louise at 9:30 PM. It was kind of late time, so I need to find a hostel which is only one in Lake Louise. I entered the entrance of the hostel and asked the price. Jesus christ…….it cost 38 $ with HI membership. I did not want to pay for just sleep, but I had no choice, so I just paid the money and got the Room card. When I entered the Doom, there were already 2 persons. I just said Hi and what’up thing and went out to drink just one glass of beer.

I was so starving but Lake Louise……is……devils’ town.

Every food and liquor is so expensive that only devil can afford it, but not for me.

Anyway, do I have any choice?

Nope.

I just went to a bar named Samsun (I am still not sure of the name) and had a glass of beer.

After drinking the beer, I went to kitchen in the Hostel, where I was staying, for snack. There was an old man, who is over 60 years old and traveling to Whitehorse from Tennessee with riding bicycle, was eating his dinner. We, he and me, just shared our story and we exchanged our e-mail and blog address.

Banff 에서의 3번째 날

오늘은 Banff에서 Lake Louise로 떠나는 날이다. 다행히도 아침 일찍 일어나서 무료 빵이랑 커피를 먹을 수 있었고….그리곤 샤워를 하고 짐을 챙겼다. 오늘의 버스 스케줄을 보니 3:50 분에 Lake Louise로 출발하는 버스가 있다. 시계를 보니 아직 11시…

시간이 많이 남아서 로비에서 딩굴딩굴….지나가는 사람들 말걸고 시간을 때우다 보니 배속에서 밥달라고 한다. 슈헤이를 보채서 스파게티를 해먹고….그레이 하운드 터미널로 출발…

중간에 길을 잃어…겨우 3:50 분에 맞쳐서 도착을 했더니…젠장….3:05분에 출발을 했단다. 다음 버스는 8:50분….뭘 해야되나……

그레이 하운드 버스 터미널은 너무 후지다. 그래서 그 바로 옆에 있는 Brewster 버스 터미널로 넘어갔다. 여긴 소파도 있고 전화기도 있고 그리고 화장실…또 식수대가 있다. 캬….안아서 컴퓨터로 ‘Lime Life’ 라는 영화를 한편 보고 나니…시간은 벌써 7시…다시 Grey Hound 버스 터미널로 가서 Lake Louise 행 버스를 탔다.

2nd day of Banff

I could not eat breakfast because I overslept. When I went to TV room, Shuhei was there. We decided to go to see Vermilion Lake and hike Surpher Mountain.

 Firstly, we made sandwich and went to Vermilion Lake. Lake was big and very clean. I took some of pictures and went back to hostel to have a sandwich.

When I was taking rest in the lobby, a germen guy, who I drank with last night, came to me and give me some information of hiking.

“If you do not mind tourist, you would better go to Surpher Mountain to hike” he said with strong germen accent.

“Alright, I would like to take the trail.”

And we talked about going to Lake Louise and Jasper with some other people who stay in the hostel. If we can rent a car to go to Jasper, it would be cheaper with many people.

After I had enough time to charge myself to go to the trail, I woke Shuhei and we left the hostel heading to Surpher Mountain.

When I was hiking to the top of the mountain, a guy just said hi to me. It was Jonathan, who just arrived last night to Banff and stayed the hostel together; we went up to the mountain together.

When we got down to the mountain, we saw an Elk. He or she was bigger then what I thought.

Finally, I got back to the Hostel and there was same people how drank last night together, so I bump into them.

Calgary to Banff

캘거리에서 밴프로 가는 버스를 타려고 기다리면서 한명의 일본인을 만났다. 슈헤이라고 하는데 자기도 밴프로 간다고 하여 같이 동행을 하기로 했다. 버스에서 이것 저것 물어보니 60일동안 캐나다랑 미국여행을 할 거라고 한다. ㅋ 버스를 타고 60일이면 허리 부러질턴데…어쨌든 밴프에 같이 도착해서 저렴한 Hostel을 찾아 2틀동안 지내기로 했다.

첵크인이 3시라고 하여 짐을 맡기고 Banff주변 관광을 하기로 했다. 우선 Cave & Basin이라는 동굴이 있다고 하여 약 30분간 걸어서 도착했으나….당분간 리모델링을 해야되서 휴업이란다…ㅋ 가는날이 장날이라더니…어쩔수 없이 Bow Falls 로 발걸음을 옮겼다.

 얼마전에 나이아가라폭포를 보고 와서 보니….별로 감흥은 오지 않았으나 폭포에서 흘러나오는 바람때문에 당분간 폭포를 바라보고 liquor store에서 맥주를 사고 슈퍼마켓에 가서 빵이랑 토마토 그리고 스파게티 소스를 사가지고 호스텔로 들어갔다.

호스텔에 도착해서 짐을 풀고 우선 샤워를 한후 음식을 만들러 공동 식당에 내려가서 슈헤이랑 같이 샌드위치를 만들어 먹었다.

 며칠만에 처음 먹는 음식…우선 배가 불르니 맥주 생각이 나서 맥주를 들고 야외 테라스에 가니 사람들이 모여서 얘기를 나누고 있어서 같이 맥주를 마시다보니…12시…호스텔 직원이 오더니 너무 시끄럽다고 그만 들어가란다…ㅋ 같이 마시던 얘들이랑 근처에 있는 Beaver bar로 가서 맥주를 한잔더 마시고 내일을 위해 잠을 청했다.
